Twitter is starting to take over the world! Because of that I've heard a lot of people who have never used it rip on it. Which is fine. I don't care. I don't own twitter stock! But most of those people have never used it. A few months ago I joined the Twitter world. At first, I had refused to join because of the narcissistic idea of it all. At least that's what I envisioned it to be. After a few months of using it, it is way more involved than what I had originally thought.

So I have decided to enlighten the world. World, here is how I use twitter:

1. Let people know what I'm doing (this is what people refer to when they say its narcissitic).
2. Share interesting articles that I've read.
3. Read articles that are shared by others.
4. Send immediate updates to all of our  students' phones via text message.
5. Set up a conference call with other twitter users.
6. Interact with church leaders who you would never be able to email or call (Andy Stanley, Max Lucado, Mark Oestreicher, John Maxwell, Perry Noble, Mark Driscoll, Doug Fields, and more!!).
7. Read what other leaders immediate thoughts on current events.
8. Updates my blog with tiny bits of my life.
9. Gather information about topics of conversation throughout the world (whether it be my church, the Cardinals, or whatever else!)
10. See into the lives of people who I would otherwise never meet.

and much more.

(If you click on the image to the right you can see a view of my Twitter feed. You can see that people are not just telling what they're doing, but requesting information, asking for brainstorming, sharing articles, inspiration, scripture and much more!)

It is like the people who say they hate the iPhone. The only reason they say this is because they do not have one. They see the light once they get one. Same with twitter.

I don't hate Twitter, but I don't feel the need to use it either. All that stuff you said about it, I can do in other ways and not have ANOTHER thing to log into... Maybe one day I'll sign up, but I don't feel all that pressed to do so. Just seems like the lazy-version of the Internet to me, lol. (However, I do like that they've inadvertantly given us the phrase, "Oh, go Twitter yourself!")

I do want one of them iPhones, though...but I don't want to pay what they're asking... :)
